Why must you service your doors?<\/strong> <\/span><\/h2>\n

As stipulated in the Provision and Use of Workplace Equipment Regulations all types of manually and power operated doors are to be subject to a controlled regular maintenance and service contract, where doors are inspected by a competent qualified person and a record kept of each inspection.<\/p>\n

Specifically under the\u00a0<\/span>Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998<\/a><\/span>\u00a0(PUWER),\u00a0<\/span>powered doors, shutters, and gates<\/strong> in workplaces must be maintained in an efficient state, in good repair, and regularly inspected to ensure safety<\/mark>. <\/span><\/p>\n

Employers are legally obligated to ensure these doors are safe for users, with at least an annual service, though more frequent inspections are recommended.<\/p>\n

Wear and tear<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Any product with moving parts that is used on a regular basis will fail if not serviced and maintained on an annual or bi-annual basis depending on how often it is used.<\/p>\n

Regular servicing will ensure the longevity of a door, spotting potential ware and tare issues on parts which can be replaced before resulting in expensive repairs.<\/p>\n

Accidents in the workplace<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Ensuring the door is in a safe and well maintained condition will help in preventing accidents and damage in the workplace.<\/p>\n

Door Maintenance Co Ltd<\/strong><\/span> \u2013 Repair, Maintain and Service all types of industrial doors nationally, including roller shutters doors, fire doors, sectional doors and steel hinged doors across all sectors. As the group manufacture almost all of our products this enables Door Maintenance to respond to repairs, replacements and breakdowns rapidly.<\/p>\n

The maintenance team operate a 24\/7 emergency call out service (0800 834 347) and can usually respond within 2 hours.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

The importance of regular servicing of all doors and shutters is both a legislative requirement and can also save time and money when issues are reported prior to a breakdown.<\/p>\n
